JTI Festival Season

Following a successful first festival season in 2025, we are continuing to support this exceptional project in 2026. For an international client, we are delivering a modular brand experience that showcases two brands at four of Switzerland’s largest festivals – designed for changing locations, short installation times, and the specific demands of festival operations.

Together with standing ovation AG and partner Bureau Burach, we developed an architectural concept featuring one main pavilion and two side pavilions. Its organic design language defines the overall appearance and creates a distinctive, cohesive presence across all locations.

It all began with a vision. In creative workshops, ideas were gathered, forms were developed, and different approaches were repeatedly challenged, refined and taken further.

From the initial inspirations and sketches, the design foundation for the final overall concept gradually began to take shape.

After the development phase was completed, all architectural and technical elements were brought together in a detailed 3D CAD model. The interactive view makes spatial impact, proportions and technical interdependencies tangible even before implementation – providing a clear basis for coordination, review and final approval.

What initially began as a digital concept takes increasingly concrete shape in CAD. The project requirements are translated into precise constructions, creating the foundation for the subsequent production process.

Based on the CAD data, the custom-designed steel components and special constructions are fabricated, welded and ground. Step by step, the digital design is transformed into a physical component.

In the completed prototype, construction, functionality and dimensional accuracy come together for the first time. Details can be tested, adjusted and optimised before final implementation begins.

Temporäre Architektur auf Tour

From prototype to real-world testing. Before the first festival, the entire system is fully assembled and tested under realistic conditions. Construction, fit and assembly processes are reviewed and optimised – ensuring an efficient and predictable installation on site.

Designed to be modular.
Built for touring.

Following the successful pre-assembly, preparations begin for the actual festival operation.

Not only each individual component, but the entire installation was consistently designed around repeated assembly and dismantling as well as transport between festival locations. Timber, steel and truss structures, along with selected LED components, are prepared and transported in defined modules. Specially developed dollies protect the components and allow pre-assembled elements to be moved efficiently from one location to the next.

Pre-planned – cost-efficient and predictable.

Transport volumes and the loading of each flatbed were already visualised during the CAD planning phase. This made it possible to determine the required capacities at an early stage and provide our transport partner with precise planning data – enabling needs-based vehicle scheduling and optimal use of available loading space.

Following the successful transport and assembly of the main structures, the technical equipment could be integrated into the construction quickly and efficiently thanks to the modular planning approach.

What began months earlier as a sketch and digital model takes its final form on the festival site. Over the course of around three days, the entire setup is assembled on site and brought together as one integrated system.

A 50-tonne crane and a team of around ten people are used for the installation. Thanks to the consistently modular design, the prepared elements can be positioned and assembled quickly and efficiently, bringing the entire installation together as one cohesive experience.

After months of concept development, planning and preparation, everything the teams have been working towards finally comes together on site: a distinctive festival presence where architecture, technology and brand experience merge into one cohesive whole.

A sincere thank you to our client for their trust and the excellent collaboration, to all project and production partners for their valuable contribution, and last but not least to our entire team for their outstanding commitment and the result we achieved together.
